Prodigies In Progress.

Fun Musical Instruction for Children!

Private Violin and Viola Lessons

Let's get started! You will need an instrument, music stand, and method books to begin your adventure. Students should have strong motor skills, be able to count to 10, and be able to recite the alphabet through the letter G (usually around 4 to 5 years old). Older students are welcome! Lessons meet once weekly for 30 minutes. Private lessons are one-on-one sessions that concentrate fully on the individual student. Specific assignments are given for home practice during the week. The student should be measured for the correct size instrument, so wait until the first lesson before you get your violin or viola!

Private Piano or Keyboard Lessons

Do you have a piano or keyboard that you wish you could play? There's no time like the present! All you need is a couple of method books and a little time every day for practice. You'll be playing songs in no time! Students need to have strong motor skills, be able to count to 10, and be able to recite the alphabet through the letter G (usually around 4 to 5 years old). Older students are welcome! Lessons meet once weekly for 30 minutes. Private lessons are one-on-one sessions that concentrate fully on the individual student. Specific assignments are given for home practice during the week. If a keyboard is used for lessons, it needs to have at least 61 keys, a sustain pedal, and graded hammer action keys.

Class Lessons With Prodigies Music Curriculum (Ages 2-8)

The Prodigies Music curriculum is redefining the goals of early music education by delivering what other music programs do not: a true focus on music theory, an early introduction to instrumental performance, and an easy path to teaching children the musical skills associated with both perfect and relative pitch. With Prodigies Music Curriculum, we use colorful, fun, and modern music lessons that deliver kids the concepts, challenges, and skills to truly learn the language of music. Preschoolers will be singing with solfege and will be performing concert music on bells, and older children will be discussing the aural quality of intervals, melody, and chords.

About imageAbout image
How often have you heard of someone who enrolled in music lessons as a child only to drop out soon thereafter because the lessons were boring, tiresome, and not much fun?  As adults, these people often regret their decisions.  Prodigies in Progress strives to make children’s first musical experiences enjoyable so they will want to continue into adulthood.

Prodigies in Progress is a program of private instruction for violin and piano and class instruction for fundamental music concepts dedicated to providing energetic and fun musical education for young children. Sessions are offered for children as young as two years of age and are conducted at the student's location of choice: the instructor's home studio, the student's home, or at a school or day care facility. The lessons offer positive reinforcement and fun activities so the lessons will be an engaging experience for the student.

Prodigies in Progress has been in the business of making music fun for children for over 11 years.  Prodigies in Progress is owned and operated by Nancy Warncke. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from West Texas A&M University where she was a member of the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra and various musical organizations.  She continues to play locally in the Dallas area and is a member of Texas Music Educators Association and American String Teachers Association.
